Mid week review

This past weekend my family and I went to the Zoo and had a blast! It was the twins first time seeing it and they LOVED every second! I have never seen my sons eyes light up the way they did when he was staring at the spider monkeys..haha! He was thrilled! They both did great riding around in their Escalade of a double stroller...that is until we took them out to play at the playground! Oh boy, what a mistake that was. They freaked when my husband and I tried to get them back in the stroller to leave, whoa...not sure I'll make that mistake again! My 7 year old will tell you she wants to be a Vet when she grows up, so you can imagine how much she enjoyed herself that day! All and all it was a FABULOUS time for all of us!

I love my husband and all he does to support our family. He works so hard and never complains about coming home to change a diaper or help clean up dinner....he's such a trooper, thought I would just throw that out there really quick!

This week is the ProBowl here in Hawaii! I can't seem to find many people here who LOVE the sport as much as I do though. I'm kind of obsessed with it and my Patriots! I'm getting ready to have a wonderful weekend full of fun, football and family!! I am SO excited, I can't even describe it! I've been on twitter trying to find out where the players are practicing and where they are hanging out in hope to "run" into someone while I'm out and about! I even planned a "date night" with Greg on Friday, just to go downtown and do some "celebrity watching." I know I know...I'm nuts, but really...who cares right? At least my husband doesn't have to argue over watching football on tv...I usually get upset if he even thinks about changing the channel during a commercial...HA, yeah, it's that important!! My son even shouts at the tv and says, "ootball ootball" when he gets up in the morning!! I'm a football loving breeder, all my kiddos love to watch it!! I actually made my husband take a drive last night just to see the hotel all the players are staying in! We saw a lot of them driving around and walking into the hotel, but I was surprised at how much they all look alike when they are walking in groups! Oh well...it's worth a shot right! Saturday morning there is a Ohana day at Aloha Stadium and the entire family will be going. It's supposed to be lots of fun for the family, games, sneak peaks, autographs and food! Then we are heading downtown to Waikiki Saturday night for the NFL Probowl block party! Five stages of music among the list of things going on...oh my, I'm in overload talking about football! Then the game is Sunday..whoot whoot! Lots of pics next week!

I'm also starting to edit some of my sunset pictures in hopes of starting my own photography business in the near future. I just hope people will buy them! Ok, off to get the twins up from their naps...

Mahalo for reading....

Soldier...

THE FINAL INSPECTION
The Soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass..

'Step forward now,Soldier ,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?'
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear..
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

'Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'

Random thoughts

Ok, I'm going to try harder to blog...promise! This is all new to me, blogging and twittering. My wonderful neighbor has gotten me interested in it and I'm starting to find the ins and outs of it all! I still think facebook is way easier, but I'm going to try! I'm hoping that when I (eventually) start my business these two outlets will help!

So, I've started back working out, but this time I'm getting some boosts from my hubby! I've got him hooked on Insanity! I love being able to beat him at it since I have "experience" doing it, haha! I'm also running every night, thinking mornings for runs might be better though. I have been debating on signing up for a half marathon here in Hawaii. It's called the Diva Half Marathon, 13.1 crazy miles! You get tiara's feather PINK boas, flowers, champangne and a beautiful medal at the end!! I'm not a runner and never have been, but I think this would be a great challenge to set my mind to! I've got a goal of losing another 20lbs, and working towards something would be good motivation. So, what do you think? Should I do it? I guess I should just go with, "it doesn't matter how you get to the finish line, as long as you do!"

This post is pretty random and doesn't have any frills but it sure feels good to just talk...thanks for listening!

blogger..GO

Happy (Rainy) Aloha Wednesday!

So, now that I am getting a little more time to write since my kiddos are becoming a little more independent, I thought it would be a great time to start my blog! I am on a personal mission to write a few times a week and share all of my experiences, trials, triumphs and all the other little things that make my life, well...my life!

I have been married to my wonderful husband for seven and a half years and we have been together since the fall of '99 (whoa..that's over a decade, never thought of it that way)! We have been through the good, the bad and the "don't even go there" times! We are living an amazing life, thanks to our love for each other and a little bit of luck along the way! Greg (my husband) is an Officer in the US Navy and we (yes, we...I consider us both military members at this point) are currently stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii! We have three beautiful children, a 7 year old daughter and 20 month old fraternal twins! I am TRULY blessed to have such a fabulous family! I'm hoping to share a lot of what our family does with you!

So, about me...I am learning to be a great cook (seriously...for those that know me, know this is a HUGE accomplishment)! I really love to read and you will often find me on my Pandigital novel outside on the lanai with the warm Hawaiian ocean breeze blowing in my hair. I am slowly teaching myself to sew and I can say I've made two dresses for the girls so far that they could actually wear out in public! Lastly, I am a beginning photographer! I have always loved taking pictures of pretty much anything I find interesting. I've been told that I have a great "eye" for it and that I should pursue a career in the field. Lately I've been taking a lot of sunset pictures out of my backyard and I'm truly enjoying it more everyday! I haven't invested in lenses or a frame yet, but am doing my own research to find the one that's going to be right for me! I hope that sometime this year I can get my own business up and running, wish me luck!

I hope you enjoy the start of my blog as I have enjoyed sharing a little about myself and family with you!
